Radio Bruno is a radio station founded in 1976, which broadcasts throughout the territory of Emilia Romagna and Tuscany as well as in some neighboring provinces.
With over 481,000 daily listeners, it is the most listened to radio station in Emilia Romagna, beating Radio 105, Rtl 102.5, Radio Deejay and Radio Rai.
The Challenge
The goal of Radio Bruno is to allow its listeners to enjoy the contents of the radio wherever they are, even in areas outside of the radio frequency range. We have therefore developed mobile, wearable, and passenger car applications (android Auto and Apple carplay) on MBurger technology.
The development of the mobile application has thus allowed the brand to reach a greater number of users, thanks to the possibility of listening to radio all over the world without the geographical constraints of radio frequencies.
Thanks to these tools and the various features present on the application, the brand has not only gained prestige with the sponsors, but also increased listener-engagement.
Create. Design.
During the first phase of the project, the Mumble team took care of the application’s study and development of the User interface.
The navigation menu was designed to simplify the use of different streaming channels for the user, without changing the established habits of using similar digital tools such as Spotify, Apple Music, or Play Music.
Once the navigation mode was defined, the design elements were then produced. Starting from the main colors of Radio Bruno, the color palette was identified, while the different elements that make up the UI of the application were designed, such as boards, icons, cards, lists and galleries.
Mobile Development
Mobile applications were developed through native technology, SWIFT for iOS and Java for Android. Meanwhile, the back-end and dashboard for managing content in real time were developed through MBurger technology.
MBurger has cut down development times by 400% while simultaneously reducing natural problems that come from the software’s “Project 0” development. Plus, the initial investment is reduced–since it was not necessary to create a server infrastructure, back-end, and the customized CMS of the project. From the same platform, the Radio Bruno team is able to update all digital contents and manage them from a single central HUB.

The technology structure for managing application contents was developed with MBurger. Thanks to this platform, development time has been reduced by 400% and time spent on fixing bugs has been eliminated.
MPush
Thanks to MPush integration, digital teams can engage audiences with unlimited push notifications. Due to the different platform functions, MPush is able to plan push notifications by scheduling them during fixed days and times. It can also link them to the app’s specific sections, such as Gallery and News.
