Overview
Customer & Challenge
MyES, My English School, is today one of the most dynamic and best-known names in language education, with 85 schools in four countries and a community that keeps growing. At its helm is Luigi Sguerri, a visionary entrepreneur who chose from the start to break with traditional teaching and create a radically different experience.
> “We decided to turn the page and put the student at the centre of the whole project, from the spaces to the method. We wanted to understand what a student would really want in order to enjoy an English course.”
The result is an innovative, communicative method built on interaction and personal experience. Lessons take place in open spaces, with no desks or walls, where students speak more than teachers and feel at home. An approach that may seem normal today, but was a revolution 15 years ago.
As MyES grew exponentially, Luigi realised the next challenge was twofold: guaranteeing consistency and efficiency at scale, while enriching each student’s experience in a personal way.
> “When we were one or two schools, everything was handmade. Today, with almost 30,000 students, every change has to be measured and tested. And it has to work for everyone.”
In this context technology became a strategic hub, both to digitise internal processes and to give students flexible tools tailored to their own path. The goal was clear: build an advanced platform and a mobile app that reflect MyES’s founding values: innovation, accessibility and putting people first.
Takeaway
An app that follows every student on their journey, wherever they are
MyES introduced a mobile app for students, designed to bring continuity and flexibility to learning English. The app lets students access their course, book lessons on their own, stay up to date on upcoming events and receive exclusive content and personalised tips every day. As Luigi puts it:
> “We want every student to feel at the centre. To be able to access their course and improve outside the classroom too, whenever and wherever they want.”
Digital Editor: the engine of the MyES learning world
At the heart of the project is the Digital Editor, a tool that lets MyES teachers build and update exercises quickly, intuitively and with precision. “The Digital Editor is our daily bread”, says Luigi, because it generates exercises from a wide range of formats (match-up, multiple choice, fill the gap, sequences…).
All the material is fully digital and proprietary, managed on virtual servers and editable in real time:
> “It can be updated in seconds. That gives us complete autonomy and responsiveness.”
Operational efficiency and the ability to scale: everything updates in one click
With more than 30,000 active students and a network of 85 schools in 4 countries, MyES needed tools that simplified workflows and guaranteed consistency at scale. Thanks to the digital ecosystem we built, every exercise or change can now be released to all users at once, with an ease never seen before:
> “You used to be able to stay comfortable for 2 or 3 years; today, if you don’t change and evolve every 6 months, you’re already behind. We need tools that let us keep pace.”
This infrastructure made a major shift possible: from handmade management to scalability without compromise, with processes that are more structured, and also more efficient and measurable.
